Recreational Soccer Information

Our recreational soccer program is designed for local youth to have fun and learn more about soccer, whether it’s a new sport for them or they’ve played for years.  Our recreational program currently operates in fall and in winter as futsal.

If you have questions, please visit our FAQ page.  If your question isn’t answered there, you may email the recreational coordinator, but please be mindful that this is a volunteer position and emails will not always be replied to immediately.

2026 Fall Recreation Registration will open in late spring (May).  Please follow @Santa_Cruz_City_Soccer on IG for the most up to date information.

We depend on volunteer coaches to make this program affordable and possible.  We cannot field more teams than we have coaches for.  You'll receive $100 off your child's enrollment if you coach! Please email Laina at rec-coordinator@santacruzsoccer.com if you're interested in coaching a Rec team.  You also get to choose the school, day, and time of practice.  All coaches, experienced or new, receive support from the club’s Recreational Coordinator and Board.

As a community organization and non-profit, our goal is to keep registration costs low so that our programming is accessible to all our community members and their children.  Registration fees alone do not cover all the club's costs.  Please consider donating one of two ways when registering:

Sponsor a Rec team.  This is a great way for small businesses to show their support on team jerseys and allows children who otherwise would not be able to participate to do so. Please complete this form or contact Alexis Ow at operations@santacruzsoccer.com  for info.

And/or you can choose to donate a set amount to the club on the registration form to support the scholarship program or soccer equipment.   Please consider donating if you have the means – even a little support can go a long way.

If you need financial assistance, please complete the SCCYSC Scholarship Form/Formulario de beca

The Fall 2026Recreation Season will begin at the end of August with the first games after Labor Day.  The season runs approximately 10 weeks.

Players are grouped into divisions based on year of birth, starting at age 4.

Equipment: Players are provided with a full uniform for the season, including jersey, shorts, and long socks.  Families are responsible for purchasing their own soccer cleats and shin guards, which are required for play.

Teams will practice 1-2x per week (U6-U8 typically 1x, U10 and older can be 1 or 2x) and play one (1) game per weekend. Practices are held at local elementary schools; games are held at Harvey West or local Middle Schools (B40).
